Record-Setting Lawsuit To Be Filed Against TEPCO

Around 10,000 people, including residents of the Odaka district in Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture  from an area in a no-entry zone around the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant are preparing to file suit to seek more compensation from the Tokyo Electric Power Company.

They insist the current payment from the utility is insufficient.

The government’s settlement body was set up last August. It has so far accepted about 660 cases. This will be first time for some 10,000 people to file a class-action suit with the organization.
