TEPCO distributed over 17,000 potassium iodide tablets to 2,000 workers – Ceased in October

From the onset of the disaster through October 2011, TEPCO distributed around 17,500 potassium iodide tablets to about 2,000 workers on-site.  According to TEPCO, the inventory at the plant held about 30,000 potassium iodide pills that were stored since March 13th of last year.

All distribution of potassium iodide ceased at the end of October.
