TEPCO to perform underwater surveys of Fukushima Reactor 4 Spent Fuel Pool

TEPCO will send an underwater camera into the spent fuel pool at Fukushima Reactor 4, to aid in understanding the current state of the fuel and structure.  The operation will take place on February 9th, and will also focus on understanding the state of fallen building debris.  Tepco plans to start removing the fuel by March 2014.

Similar underwater camera surveys will also be performed several times in March to get check the fallen building debris and see if the fuel is damaged.
