TEPCO Begins Training New Radiation Measuring Workers

Due to the necessity of survey work in the rest spaces of the station, measuring work of airborne radiation inside and outside the station, and measuring work for the evacuees who go back to their homes temporarily, more “Radiation controllers” are required.

TEPCO and the Japanese national government are implementing training to develop new radiation measuring workers and/or radiation controllers.

Training began on May 30th, and over 21 courses have been completed to date, with 1,900 employees taking the course successfully.  Planned are 40 sessions for 4,000 additional trained controllers.
