TEPCO Employees Taking Voluntary Retirement Up Threefold In 2011

Before the nuclear crisis triggered by the March 11, 2011, earthquake and tsunami, TEPCO hired some 1,000 new workers a year.  Before the March 11th disaster, some 1,000 workers quit the company a year, including those who leave at the mandatory retirement age.

In 2011 the number of employees taking voluntary retirement saw a three-fold increase when compared to previous years.
